Phony Service Dogs A Crime Starting July 1st
Beginning July 1st pretending one’s dog is a service animal now carries a penalty of up to two months in jail and 30 hours of community service helping the disabled.
“Lawmakers say they hope it will make people who aren’t actually disabled think twice about what they’re doing. The law itself, however, could be hard to enforce without any national standards in place for specific requirements for training of a service animal,” according to WPTV.
