Andrew & Motive Speak to Sunshine Club-Lake Brantley High School
Andrew and Motive Speak to Sunshine Club – Lake Brantley High School.
Motive and Andrew recently made a visit to Lake Brantley High School in Altamonte Springs, Florida to speak to The Sunshine Club. Andrew addressed about 35 students about the relationship that he and Motive share and the types of commands Motive responds to when providing mobility assistance. Part of Andrew’s presentation includes a description of the different types of assistance dogs and hints on how to spot a real assistance dog verses a fake one.
Andrew explains about the application process, the wait period and the extensive training that he and Motive did together before Motive was released to him. He also spoke about the daily training that continues to keep he and Motive working in peak condition and the cost of training and his customized harness. He went on to explain that Genesis provides all of this at no charge to its clients.
The students, freshmen through seniors, were completely attentive and asked excellent questions. Motive was the star of the presentation and provided every one of them the opportunity to get a snuggle and a hug. Mrs. Sams, faculty sponsor for the club, thanked Andrew and Motive for speaking to the group and made a very generous contribution on behalf of all of the students of The Sunshine Club to Genesis Assistance Dogs, Inc. in the amount of $400.00. The students raise money throughout the year by selling and delivering balloons for student birthdays, special occasions, holidays, graduation, etc. in addition to holding car washes. They are a fabulous group of students who work hard to support causes that are special to them and Genesis Assistance Dogs, Inc. is very proud to be the recipient of such hard-earned generosity.
