Service Dogs in Florida – Genesis Helps Fulfill the Dream!
The need for service dogs in Florida is increasing almost exponentially with the help of media stories about the wonderful support they provide their companions. The Invictus Games even held a special event for service dogs to swim alongside their partners and the entire world was watching. With the public’s awareness of the positive support provided by assistance dogs for medical alert, PTSD, seizure alert, hearing assistance, etc. the only thing standing in the way of clients receiving the companion they need is the availability of people willing to contribute to the raising and training of puppies. Wait lists are long; with some organizations having a 5 year time frame. At Genesis Assistance Dogs, Inc. we are working to help those clients with mobility issues be paired with their service dogs in Florida within a three year period. To accomplish this goal we need the help of many folks in our community for a variety of reasons.
As a not-for-profit organization we need to ensure that we have the financial impetus to move ahead. The people who make monetary contributions and assist us with fundraising events are very special people. It’s really about all sorts of very special people. We are currently in need of finding those special people who have the time, patience, hearts and willingness to open their homes to help raise one of our service dogs in Florida. We know it’s asking a lot, but we also know first-hand that it will be one of the most rewarding experiences you will ever enjoy.
We know that it is hard work to raise a puppy, regardless of which age you’d like to work with. Whether a pup is 8 weeks to 6 months old, or one of the older stages of puppy-hood, each comes with a unique set of challenges. Our trainer will work with you one on one to teach you how to be effective with your training. You will be amazed at the results and how quickly your little one will become adept at the necessary behaviors on the journey to becoming a service dog in Florida for Genesis Assistance Dogs.
